It seems that nobody even cares anymore what gas prices are doing. Gasoline prices have fallen $1 in the last month and more than $2 since we hit the all-time high this past summer, in June.

Back then, there wasn’t a topic that got more coverage than the skyrocketing gas prices. Even the presidential primaries were taking a back seat.

But times have changed. The housing market and stock market continue to free-fall, along with the fear of a global recession. That is far overshadowing the dropping prices for gas.

People do feel happy that gas prices are falling, but there’s just too many other worries on consumer’s minds.

It doesn’t mean energy prices don’t matter anymore. They do and are an important part in all of our lives. Indeed, cheaper gas does put more money into motorists’ pockets at a critical time of sagging consumer spending.

Sadly though, it appears even the stunning decline in energy prices apparently won’t be enough to keep us out of a recession.

Just as consumers had no idea why prices spiked like they did, they’re just as bewildered trying to figure out why they’re falling so rapidly.

Does anybody have a clue? Share them if you do …..
